Five Easy Spring Hairstyles
I came across these beautiful illustrated hair tutorials (by Samantha Hahn) on sheletsherhairdown.com, so I thought I’d share them with you guys!
This hairstyle uses crown braids to create a polished yet effortless hair look. This hairstyle is also ideal for the warmer months because it keeps your hair off your neck! You can learn how to do crown braids from this video tutorial.
This look is a modern, very French, Marie Antoinette-inspired hairstyle. All you need to do this is hairspray, a curling iron, a hair bungee, and a few pins. For instructions on how to get this look, go here.
This one is the classic, glamourous 1940’s wave hairstyle. Old Hollywood glamour is coming back into fashion – just look at the hairstyles at this year’s Oscars! Jessica Chastain and Reese Witherspoon both carried this look beautifully. I wish I had this tutorial back when I attempted 1940’s waves on my birthday!
The quick topknot (or in French, chignon), is the art of making a messy bun look effortlessly chic. This is a great cure-all hairstyle for the bad hair day, because it’ll look like you put effort into your hair, and you’ll appear polished all day. Click here for the full tutorial!
And finally, easy, beachy waves. All you’ll need to achieve this look is a curling iron and some hairspray! This is my go-to hairstyle, all year long. I skip the hairspray, because my hair holds a curl easily, but if you suffer from your hair going back to its natural state after only a short while, definitely use hairspray. All you have to do is curl all your hair away from your face, and shake it out a little with your fingers afterwards. For more detailed instructions, go here!
Which of these hairstyles are you planning to try out? I’m definitely going to re-vist the 1940s one! x
