Yes To… Drugstore Hauls
Drugstores are a dangerous place for me. I always end up browsing through the aisles, knowing there’s something there I should be buying. And in the process of searching, I end up finding a few other things.
Yesterday was just such a day. I went in to re-purchase my favorite lip balm, and went out with my bag stuffed full of drugstore goodies.
I’ve tried expensive lip balms, but I always come back to my ol’ faithful, Nivea. I slather it on every night before bed, and wake up with deliciously moisturized lips. Their “milk & honey” variety smells particularly lovely, and is made with organic shea butter and natural jojoba oil, which is nice.
Another re-purchase I remembered while at the drugstore was mascara. As with lip balm, I actually prefer the drugstore varieties to the higher-end brands, like Benefit and Dior.
The one I keep going back to is Maybelline’s The Falsies Flared, in the waterproof formula. I only ever wear waterproof mascara, because you never know when it’ll rain, or I’ll start crying at a book, show, or movie, being the sentimental person I am. (Plus, waterproof mascaras don’t smudge, and hold a curl better.)
And now for the fun stuff: the purely impulsive purchases. “Yes To…” was a brand I first heard about through youtube beauty gurus, but I’d never seen their products in Canada before. So when I passed a display for their facial towelettes, I got really excited to try them out!
I don’t usually use facial wipes (I prefer a cotton pad soaked with makeup remover), but I had to test out these, so I picked up a travel-sized pack of Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes. I haven’t yet used them, so I have no review to give, but they have cucumbers and aloe vera in ‘em, which apparently makes them soothing. Hopefully they’ll appease my sensitive skin.
The last thing I got at the drugstore was a full-size pack of Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Brightening Facial Towelettes. Sure, I may only be twenty-one, but it’s never bad to use products with age-fighting powers on your skin.
These wipes have blueberries, apples, and lemon peel to cleanse, brighten, and moisturize your skin, all at once. Not a bad deal, if it works! Stay tuned.
And full points for packaging. Seriously cute.
If I end up loving these, I’ll post a review. Have you ever tried a “Yes to…” product? Let me know which one and what you thought! x
