Winter Luxe Aldo Accessories Haul
Ummmmmm hi. Please don’t throw things at me, I know I’ve been a terrible blogger. The good news is, not dead! I’ve come back to briefly (and somewhat shamefully) poke my head back into the online world to share a post with you guys that should have gone up back in November of last year.
November, I KNOW. Bad blogger. Anyway. I bought some pretty things at Aldo Accessories a few months ago, and here they are.
In a nutshell, I walked away with a purse, a scarf, a pair of gloves, a necklace, a bracelet, and a candle. And I love everything, they’re just gorgeous. (And since when did Aldo Accessories start selling candles?)
I can’t seem to find most of these items on their website, so I apologize for not providing links. Perhaps you can use this post as style inspiration for similar items instead.
Let’s start with the shiny things, shall we? Not all that glitters is gold, but that never really bothered me.
I recently got sucked into the new tv show Reign, so that may have influenced these jewelry purchases on some subconscious level.
This ornate gold cuff bracelet was too gorgeous to resist. Perfect for adding a touch of luxury and Medieval glam to an otherwise simple little black dress.
Here’s how it looks on, so you can get an idea of its size.
Next up, this necklace, which was displayed in the store window. It was what made me stop in my tracks and veer into the store to get a closer look.
It’s quite fancy so I don’t have very many occasions to wear it, but I can’t wait to! It makes me feel just like a queen.
And then these gloves, which made me swoon. Simple black leather gloves with white trim, and one very special detail…
A white leather bow on the left hand’s ring finger!
How sweet is that? A lovely little way to add a feminine touch to my otherwise not-so-cute big puffy parka look.
I’m just trying to survive this brutal Canadian winter. I can barely even think about style when I’m just struggling to avoid dying of frostbite and anguish. If you live in a warmer climate, I am envious.
Keeping with the winter survival theme: I also bought this gorgeous black, faux fur scarf. It’s perfectly snug and keeps your neck warm and is oh-so-soft to cuddle with.
This thing has saved my life multiple times this season. Icy winds seem to rip right through regular scarves as though they’re not even there!
But my very favorite item out of this loot has to be the purse.
It’s the perfect size evening shoulder bag to hold my phone, money, cards, keys, lipstick, and even my compact DSLR camera (a blogger essential).
Reminds me a bit of the classic, quilted Chanel bag that I lusted over as a teenager. I much prefer the price tag of this guy, though. (You can see me wearing the bag in this OOTD post.
I was on my way to the cash register to pay for my finds when I spotted this beautiful golden box.
The box alone is pretty enough to be used for decoration, but the candle inside is even better.
It smells like sweet vanilla with caramel and sugar. Actually, it smells exactly like the popular Pink Sugar perfume, if you’re familiar with that.
That scent will always remind me of being 16 years old again. It was my signature scent in high school, so it’s a bit nostalgic for me.
I don’t think I’m every going to burn it, it’s too pretty! Right now I’m using it as decor in my new apartment. Even though it’s not lit, it still smells fantastically delicious.
So, that concludes the haul. How have you guys been? Thank you for the endless patience with my sporadic blogging. As I mentioned, I’m quite busy spending every waking minute getting my apartment ready. This lack of posting will not last forever! (But if you want more updates, follow me on twitter! I’m constantly updating that.)
Meanwhile, why not catch up on some older posts you may have missed? xx
