Summer Modcloth Haul
I pretty much always have a Modcloth lust list as long as my arm. On this occasion I allowed myself a few things on that list, two of which I justified as being essential, and the other two simply because I fell in love with them and couldn’t drag myself away.
I’d been looking for the perfect pair of nude sandals for a long time. These were the first pair I came across that fit all of my (many) requirements. They were elegant, comfortable, the right colour, and made so that my feet won’t slide too far forward or slip off while I walk. They also have the tiniest square heel, which to me is ideal because it prevents me from feeling like I’m slapping my feet against the pavement as I walk.
I’m incredibly happy with these, by Chase & Chloe. They fit perfectly true to size (leaving a bit of room in the toe area which adds to the comfort factor), and go with everything – sun dresses, skirts, shorts, you name it. I even put them to the test by walking in them a great distance. They held up perfectly: no blisters anywhere!
If you want your own pair, you can get these “Wow the Crowd Sandals” here. They also come in turquoise, if that’s more your style.
A good pair of black sandals was another thing I was on the lookout for for a long time. Like the beige sandals, these are also extremely comfortable because the straps are made of a soft suede which mould to your feet perfectly without chafing or causing any discomfort. I especially love the twist detailing, and think that gives them an extra special flair.
If you love them too, you can nab these pretty G.H. Bass & Co. “Come Out and Plait” sandals here. (They fit true to size.)
My third Modcloth shoe purchase was something I didn’t necessarily need…but boy did I want them! If you’ve been reading my blog for more than a day, then you probably know how much I love everything Kate Spade. While Kate Spade shoes are not really in the budget (for now), these delightful, feminine things remind me so much of that style – but at a much friendlier price!
They’re the perfect nude colour for my skin tone (legs for days!), and the manageable heel height means I can walk in them for more than five minutes without screaming out in agony. Win!
And don’t even get me started on how cute the beige and white bows are! These heels remind me a bit of Snow White’s shoes, actually. I cannot wait to style them with a ladylike dress for brunch. Get these “New Role Ready” heels here.
The last item I bought from Modcloth was this fantastically retro, plaid collared shirtdress. It’s called the “Swing Vote Dress” and while the sky blue version seems to have disappeared from the site, it is available in black.
I absolutely love it, and it fits me perfectly. The dress is made of a nice heavy material, making it flattering and not clingy. I’m 5’7”, and it hits me just above the knee. It even has side pockets!
Do you have a favourite item from this haul? If so, let me know in the comments. Mine is probably the Kate Spade-y heels, though I do so love the dress also! xx
