Hosting a Christmas Cocktail Party
In December, I decided I would host a Christmas cocktail party for a few good friends from work. I dressed up, got my apartment holiday-ready, made a playlist of my favourite jazzy covers of Christmas classics (mostly Michael Bublé, Ella Fitzgerald, and She & Him), designed a menu of custom cocktails, and laid out a spread of cheeses, charcuterie, fruit, crackers, and more. { See what I wore here. } (more…)
Bar Cart Essentials { Home Bar Haul }
Bar carts seem to be popping up everywhere lately, and if you follow me on Pinterest, you know I’ve had my eye on them for quite a while now. I managed to get my own bar cart ready just in time for holiday entertaining. This project was truly a labour of love, from picking out each item, to planning the design of the cart, and finally, actually building the DIY bar cart itself. I am pleased to say that I now have a bar cart in my apartment, and I can’t wait to share all the details with you.

Bar carts have become very trendy lately, and I’ve been wanting one of my own for quite some time. Though I’m not much of a drinker, I love entertaining and think bar carts make a wonderful piece of home decor, too. Unfortunately, all the bar carts I’d been lusting over were waaaaaay outside my budget. The least expensive one was over a hundred dollars, the most expensive one, close to two thousand. At this point, my love affair with all things gold, polka dotted, Kate Spade, or Chapters Indigo is news to nobody, and as luck would have it, Chapters Indigo released a holiday collection that is a collision of all those things. Last weekend I decided to get crafty. I’d seen DIY Sharpie mugs all over Pinterest and Etsy, so I thought I’d give them a try myself.
