Sweater Weather H&M Haul
I really hate being cold. Whenever I feel cold, I am gripped by the passionate desire to never, ever be cold again. Unfortunately, the heater at my office has been broken for the past few weeks, so I’ve been perpetually cold both indoors and out.
This has caused me to buy things like sweaters, thick socks, scarves, and coats in excess lately. Continue Reading →
Nails of the Week: Fancy French
I try to do my own nails whenever possible, but there are two things I just can’t do myself: Shellac and French manicures. So when I went to get my nails done last week, that’s what I got the professionals to do. Continue Reading →

If this doesn’t make you feel like you’re living in a late 90’s rom com, then I just don’t know.
Halloween 2013 Costume 2: Audrey
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favorite classic films. It stars Audrey Hepburn and takes place in New York in the sixties. Plus, it’s so beautiful and romantic. What’s not to like?
For this year’s Halloween costume, I decided to dress up as Holly Golightly, Audrey Hepburn’s character in the film. It’s one of Audrey’s most iconic roles – and outfits. Continue Reading →
Halloween 2013 Costume 1: Belle
Update (2018) – there’s a newer, better version of this costume here!
Look. I know that Halloween is supposed to be about all things spooky. But the thing is: there are so few times we get to dress in costume, so when Halloween rolls around, I use it as an excuse to go all-out as one of my favorite fictional female characters. I guess that’s more cosplay than Halloween. *shrug*
Usually there are two opportunities per Halloween to dress up, so I reuse last year’s costume for one of them, and come up with a brand new costume for the other. Last year I went as Hermione Granger (a repeat from the year previous), and Belle, from Beauty and The Beast.
This year I did Belle (in her blue dress) and one other character. But you’ll find out about her in a few days. ;) Continue Reading →

As per usual, I went to the drugstore to pick up two things (toothpaste and falsies) and ended up with a full-fledged haul. And so it goes.
Apart from the toothpaste, here’s what I got. Continue Reading →
Book Review: Quarantine
With as much passion as I loved Ender’s Game, that’s almost how much I disliked this book. I didn’t just dislike it. It actually managed to piss me off – and that’s a rare feat for a book. Continue Reading →
My Nightly Skincare Routine
This is probably my number one most requested post. Some of you seem to think my skin is flawless, and while this is extremely flattering, it’s (unfortunately) an illusion created by the use of makeup & good lighting.
I’m fortunate enough not to suffer from cystic acne or any other skin disorder, but my skin isn’t perfect either. I have blemishes all the time!
With that said, here’s my nightly skincare routine. Continue Reading →

Book Review: Ender’s Game
I am almost hesitant to write this review at all. I fear that no matter which words I choose and how I arrange them, nothing will adequately express my feelings for this book. Continue Reading →
