Tutorial: Matte Red Velvet Nails
This week I decided to do a fun little experiment on my nails: a DIY-style matte velvet nail look, using eyeshadow pigments. I have a whole bunch of eyeshadow pigments lying around which I never use, because they’re such a mess to apply, and pressed eyeshadows are much easier. Nails of the Week.
I just finished painting my nails with L’Oreal #310 “Versailles Romance”. It’s a beautiful peachy pink with a pearlescent shine to it, and it applied really smoothly. One coat gave a sheer pearly nude effect, but 2-3 coats created this nearly opaque pearly peach.
I’m already really liking this manicure – it’s so subtle you almost can’t tell I’m wearing nail polish, until the light hits and creates a beautiful pearly glow. We’ll see how long this manicure holds up! xx
