Bath & Body Works Holiday Candle Haul
Fall and winter are my favourite seasons for scented candles. I love filling my home with delicious scents that remind me of the holiday season, and this year was no exception. Here’s what I got from Bath and Body Works’ holiday collection of candles. (more…)
Bath & Body Works Candle Haul
As the big Bath & Body Works sale was drawing to a close, I decided to take advantage of the 2 for $20 three-wick candle deal before it ended. Normally these big candles are $19.50 each, which is quite a lot, even when you consider that they burn for 30-45 hours each. Since I’m unwilling to spend nearly twenty bucks for a candle (wonderful as they may be), I use the sale opportunities to scoop up all the scents I want to stock up on. (more…)
Fall Bath & Body Works Haul
I admit it: I spend an exorbitant amount of money on candles. But I can’t help it – something about the beautiful flickering candlelight combined with the delicious scent wafting through the air and filling the room just gets the romantic in me. (more…)
Fall Scents Candle Haul
All year long, I wait for autumn to come around so that I can stock up on fall-scented candles from Bath and Body Works. Slatkin & Co. candles are the best ever, but Bath and Body Works release certain scents at certain times of the year, along with new limited addition scents. So when I got the newsletter e-mail from them that they were having a fall sale on candles, naturally I had to scoop them up. I meant to only buy one or two, but when I saw how many amazing scents they had that I wanted to try, that plan changed. (more…)
Loving Lately: September/October 2015
I confess, I’m a bit nosey. I absolutely love watching or reading other peoples’ monthly favourites, and discovering great new products and things. It seems only fair that I should share some of my own in return. When I get excited about something – whether it’s a new beauty product, a favourite food, or a show I’ve been obsessing over – I like to share it with everyone I know. If you follow me on instagram, you’ve already had a peek at some of these!
So without any further ado: here’s an extensive list of things I’ve been loving lately. It’s quite long, so feel free to grab a snack or something, and then settle in to scroll. Don’t worry, I’ve sorted it into categories. (more…)

Winter Haul-idays
Today is my last day of my last ever winter break from school. Tomorrow I start my last semester of university ever. It’s crazy to think about, actually. Virtually my whole life has been spent in the school system. I remember important events in my life based on what grade I was in when they happened. And now, in four short months, my school career will be completely over and I’ll be plunged, headfirst, into the adult world. (more…)
Halloween Cocktail Party
Last Saturday night, I hosted a little Halloween cocktail party at my apartment for a few close friends. Halloween, both for kids and adults, is half about the junk food, and half about dressing up – so I had to make sure both elements were present at my party. (more…)
10 Tips for Building Self Confidence
One of the most common questions I get asked online is about how to build your confidence and feel good about yourself.
In a world that literally functions based on telling people (especially women) that they’re not good enough as they are (yay, capitalism!), having confidence in the face of that onslaught is no easy feat. (more…)
Top 10 Tips for University Success
(Or, Sara’s Declassified School Survival Guide)
I get a lot of questions from high school students anxious about starting university. I also frequently get asked how to deal with the work load, the stress of exams, and how to find balance in your life. When I asked you all which topics you’d like “advice” posts about, this was a very popular one. So here are my top 10 tips for university. (more…)
Apartment Tour: Living Room
“I feel so intensely the delights of shutting oneself up in a little world of one’s own, with pictures and music and everything beautiful.” — Virginia Woolf
This post has been a long time coming, and I greatly appreciate the patience you’ve all had with me. I’ve wanted to show you my new place for ages, but wanted to a) mostly finish decorating, and b) show my closest friends in person first. Keeping it off the blog until now has been a major exercise in restraint, believe me. (more…)

Did you think I’d leave you hanging for gift ideas? Never.
December is host to two of my favorite things: Christmas and my birthday (on the 17th!). I’m just not one of those people who pay no heed to their birthdays. I love ‘em. It’s my excuse to splurge on myself and be queen for a day. Hey, I’m an only child – I like attention.
So in the spirit of the Birthdaymas season, here’s a huge compilation of things I’m drooling over, that I think would make great holiday gifts, from tech accessories to beauty products to books and more. (more…)
Haul: JustFab, Lulu’s, & More
I’ve been pretty good about curbing my impulsive shopping habits lately, but here’s a collection of a few things I’ve bought in stores or online over the past little while.
When I saw these adorable rose sandals from Lulu’s, I knew immediately they had to be mine. They’re charming, romantic, and the ankle strap keeps them from sliding off your heels. (That tends to be a problem for me with flats.) (more…)
